Outhouse

The Outhouse

The Outhouse is located down near the Creek Porch. It uses a sawdust composting system as described in the Humanure Handbook.

After going in the bucket you cover the waste with sawdust, which is available in the adjacent supply buckets.

If the bucket happens to get filled up, just put a lid on it and set it outside. We will take care of that bucket from there. And then get a fresh bucket from right next to the outhouse, fill it with about two inches of sawdust and place it back under the toilet seat.

The structures that support the Outhouse are a composting bin for the waste, a supply bin, and a water barrel for rinsing the buckets.
