Gas Space Heater

return to Systems

This is a standard wall-mounted vented propane space heater.  Instructions for lighting it are in the manual located under the table nearby and are printed on metal tags which are hanging off the back edge of the heater.

Basically you turn the dial to the ignite position, hold it down, and press the red spark button.  It usually takes 3 or 4 presses to get the pilot flame going.  You can see the flame by looking down through the viewing hole next to the dial.  When the flame is lit keep holding the dial down for at least a count of five before releasing it, or the pilot flame will go out.

Once the pilot flame is staying lit you turn the dial to the level you want.  The heater runs on a thermostat.  Pointing the arrow somewhere to the right is usually a good temperature.
